Even Jenny from the Block has insecurities about her body.
Jennifer Lopez got candid on some of the postpartum challenges she faced after welcoming twins Max and Emme Muñiz, now 15, crediting her trainer Tracy Anderson for helping her get back in shape after giving birth in 2008.
"I've been doing a lot of reflection lately, revisiting the past versions of myself to fully embrace the me of now," Jennifer explained, while presenting Tracy with the Outstanding Achievement in Fitness award at the Daytime Beauty Awards on Oct. 1. "And I'm reminded of how much Tracy has inspired and encouraged me to celebrate every version of my body over the years and to continue to elevate as my own life and needs changed."
The 54-year-old recalled, "I met Tracy right after I had my twins. I called her at a time when I was feeling insecure and uncertain, wondering if I would ever get back to how I was before—as most new moms do after giving birth."
Tracy—who has also counted Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston as clients—worked with the superstar to not only regain her strength but also her confidence.
"She came into my life," J.Lo noted, "and helped me embrace the new me and help me to be and to realize that I could be stronger than I ever had before."
The "On the Floor" singer—who tied the knot with Ben Affleck last year—shared that that there is "no madness to her methods," just dedication to healthy living that has allowed Tracy's clients to be "in the best shape of their lives at all times of their lives."
So, why have so many A-listers resonated with Tracy's workout routines?
"I really think that I have been lucky enough to have been in training with very smart, smart people and that really care about their art and their longevity and ability to be able to do that art," Tracy exclusively told E! News on the red carpet of the Los Angeles event. "And they know that I did the work to know what I'm doing."
Plus, the dance cardio expert is well aware of the "toxic part of our culture" that has fueled the insecurities she tries to break down.
"It's not about getting to a certain size or having perfect skin or shiny hair or a certain bra size or butt shape," she explained. "It's about something so much deeper than that. It's something that lights up behind the eyes and the soul—and not all these superficial things."
And it's certainly helped Jennifer dance again. Keep reading to relive J.Lo's best looks of all time:
